New ‘Verbal and Non-Verbal Communication’ course joins leadership series

Being a good communicator automatically takes your ability to provide great customer service to the next level. Guests and customers will always appreciate someone who understands what they're saying and successfully delivers the information they need.

Allara Global’s latest course, Verbal and Non-Verbal Communication, explores how to effectively interpret and convey information, and understand body language cues from others.

Learners will work their way through concept-checking questions and scenario-based activities, allowing them to develop advanced communication skills that will assist in building trusting relationships with their customers. They will also learn practical techniques and tips to apply these skills in a variety of work scenarios, to create engaging and memorable experiences for visitors. Topics covered in the course include:

  • Effective communication skills, such as reinforcement and storytelling
  • Active listening as part of communication
  • How to ask questions to improve communication
  • Parts of the body that engage in non-verbal communication
  • How to pick up on non-verbal cues
  • A final quiz to check your knowledge of verbal and non-verbal communication.

The Verbal and Non-Communication course joins the Allara Global library as part of a new leadership series, emerging from the acquisition of JERRY, the premium online learning resource for hospitality and beverage professionals. Additional courses from the leadership series will continue to be released over the coming months.

As with all courses in the leadership series, the course is optimised for viewing across a range of devices - including mobile, tablet and desktop - making it easy for your busy team to complete anytime, anywhere.
